After reading so many great posts on here in the last few days, I was fully inspired to get back to the quilt I've been working on for my nephew. I was "pumped." I sewed two strips to the sides, about 4' each, then had to take both of them out. So after about 5 minutes of sewing and 45 minutes of un-sewing, I felt so frustrated that I stopped and got back on the computer. Not that I'm complaining...

Welcome to the wonderful world of quilting. There is a good deal of unsewing along with the sewing. Enjoy it all.

Thanks for the kind words, everyone

OK, I'm going back in, and hopefully I won't be throwing anything this time. :D

my grandma always said...Never start anything after noon Friday..It will never go together and never get finished. I have stuck to that and use my weekends for planning unless my project is already started. =)

I hear ya. I needed to finish a baby quilt. (Well, plan it, start it and finish it yesterday.) Finished it last night and threw it in the wash and dryer. Got up this morning and saw what I didn't see last night. The binding was soooooo bad, I cut it off and put on a new one before delivering it today. I learned a big lesson. Don't try to do the binding when sleepy and without my much needed glasses.

I had one of those days on Thursday. Mine is still laying on the table. I will get back to it tomorrow.

Just walk away and take a breather is what I do. I get so frustrated sometimes when I keep making the same mistake. In the end, I get the project done and am usually pretty happy with it.
