Question Signature memory quilt

My brother in-law just passed away and I was thinking of doing a Indian Hatchet signature quilts. Not sure if it would be appropriate to have the blocks made up and people sign them as they come in to pay their last respects. I was just needing advice , don't want to do anything to offend anyone.

So sorry for your loss.

It's a nice thought ... though it'd be something I would discuss with his wife and family.
Some would think it was THE best idea ... some would think it was totally inappropriate.

I'd be sure to have their go-ahead, before I went-ahead!
(or I'd leave it at home)

Hard question - a shame. I read a lot about memory quilts using the deceased's clothes, etc. but not a signature quilt done at the funeral home. Maybe if there is a luncheon after the service you could have it laid out on a table and spread a whisper to have people sign it. Just a thought.

You could use copies of the signatures in the memory book.
