Default Quilting Trip/Retreat Recommendation ~

Good Evening - I was considering a quilting trip for myself and my mother (85 years young) and was considering a Road Scholar trip to West Virginia. It sounded like fun, but when asked, my mother said she would rather see the Ozarks. This means trying to find, schedule and plan our own trip. So, my question to you all is do you know of a quilting trip, or quilt shops, or related places to visit in the Missouri/Arkansas area? I think I would like to travel this spring. I am open to any and/or all suggestions.

P.S. My 85 year old mother sky-dived for the first time in November.....

Thanks,
Zella

I don't have any suggestions, but do you want someone to carry your luggage? Your mom sounds like a hoot, and I'm sure you're a lot of fun too!

There is a wonderful quilting store in Branson, Missouri, called Quilts and Quilts. I know that is a little south of the Ozarks but well worth the visit. I spent 4 1/2 hours there one day. They have so many samples made up and their prices were better than most. It is at the eastern end of strip (Hwy 76). Their phone number is 417-334-3243. Also, they may know about quilting trips in the Ozark area.

As Kathdavis said - the quilt shop in Branson is awesome - don't miss it. Been there several times.

Branson is a fabulous area to visit as well. I was there once a few years back and have wanted to go back ever since. You and your mom would love it.

I just typed Ozark quilting retreat into the search engine & came up with a few. Here's a link to one to get you started. http://www.ozarkfolkcenter.com/events/?isofc=1&id=1163
