Default Ideas for a baby blanket with a forest theme

My sister told me my niece is going for a "forest" theme for her nursery...green, blue, brown. I'm a little stumped on a blanket. I've considered something with lots of little trees or a big Tree of Life block, but that doesn't strike me as soft and babyish. I had also thought to use a cute piece of fabric I had of a forest animals scene, but apparently I used in up in an I Spy swap

Any suggestions? Thanks!

I like bunny rabbits. maybe some focus fabric of bunnies or appliques of bunnies around the border of what ever blocks you decide on.

Owls. Owls are popular and some live in forests. There are some cute owl baby quilt patterns available.

Instead of thinking "baby," think "young child." Before you know it, the baby will be two, then three . . . and "too grown up" for anything too babyish. He/she will LOVE something a bit brighter, then.

There are some beautiful batiks out there that look like leaves and trees. I had a client who also wanted something "naturey" and "foresty" and this is what I came up with.

Something like an I-Spy quilt with baby animals seems feasible for a forest nursery. It will grow with the baby into childhood before it's time to make another one.

Check out children's fabrics on Fabric.com. They have an adorable forest animal print - not sure who makes it though - that comes is several colorways, one is blues, tans, browns. Really, Really cute.
