My first thought when I read this was "NO fire would discourage me and my quilting habit"!!

This is such a tragedy for her. I would be willing to contribute to whatever donation is decided upon. This gets me thinking, tho; I might invest in a couple fireproof containers to store the quilts my grandmother made for my parents and us kids. (I am in possession of my own and the one she made for mom and dad.)

I do commiserate with her. Saturday,July 31st I was ordered by the firemen to leave my condo. A large fire destroyed the neighbours' house three stories high. The 80 firemen did a great job saving our place and told us we were lucky it was a windless day. I'll be happy to send a donation to her,

Finally got a chance to call the Stitchin Post... Jackie lost over SEVENTY quilts in this fire, along with all of her stash. The gal at the store suggested stash if we want to send something, or a donation to the account set up for Jackie at the Bank of the Cascades (addy and phone listed below.)

Bank of the Cascades
272 E Main Ave
Sisters, OR 97759
541-549-2061 (phone)

Jackie likes working with wool as well...and it seems pincushions are her thing. Jackie is always busy with something, she likes things that she can work on while she's watching TV...

Hope this helps!

I am so sorry for her loss. We are quilters though and we can rebuild her stash for her if we can get an address where to send good quality donations.
