I'm looking for opinions from all the Bow Tuck Bag makers. I want to make a bag for my aunt but don't know which one is more suitable - the regular size bag or the Mini Bow Tuck Bag. Has anyone made both and if so - which size do you like better. I don't want to buy both the patterns and don't know if I purchase the larger pattern can it be adapted to be able to make a smaller bag if needed. I love the looks of the bags and my aunt will, too. How difficult are they to make? Thanks in advance for your responses. This site is wonderful!!

I made the mini one first, it was a little to small for me!! Could barely fit my wallet in it!! So I ordered the bigger pattern to see if i liked that size better!! You may have to adapt the size to your liking!!

I've made both Bow Tuck bags and actually prefer the mini, but personally I've never like large bags (or little clutches). The mini is the size I usually carry. Check to see what size bags your aunt uses? Then make the Bow Tuck closest to that size. Enjoy making it!

I bought the mini pattern and then made it a little smaller. Do you want a purse or a larger carry-all?

I have both. The regular size is pretty big. 13" wide x 11" tall and 5" deep. The mini size is 11" wide x 10" tall x 5" deep.

Most people prefer the mini size for a regular purse. If you have someone who carries everything but the kitchen sink in their purse, I'd recomend the regular size.

Watch out! Those bow tuck bags are very addicting. I'm working on #9 now. :D

I bought the tote size first and made it. I was way to big for me, but boy did my daughter love it. I then ordered the mini and have made 4 of them and it is the perfect size for me. I think it is a matter of personal taste.

WOW!!!! I can't believe how quickly you all replied. I can't thank you enough.

Another question......My aunt has seen the "Veranda Tote" bag which is also designed by Penny Sturges. She really loves it but one of her daughters has one so I thought the Bow Tuck would be just a little different and a nice gift.

Has anyone made one of the Veranda bags and if so, how does it compare with the Bow Tuck?

I like the full sized one. But I carry everything in my purse.
