Default Sizzix question

I am currently exploring the world of die cutting machines and potentially looking at the sizzix big shot plus ( I can use it for more than fabric). However I have noticed that many of the dies I am interested in say suitable for big shot and do not mention big shot plus. As the plus is just a larger version and is newer am I right in thinking they will still be compatible and they just haven't updated their marketing materials?

you can use any of the regular big shot dies in the big shot plus or the big shot pro (or the big shot express).

As long as it is not a pro die you are fine, the website lists compatible machines when looking up the die

THanks everyone! I know the sizzix site often lists but other companies don’t alway list al options so it isn’t good to know

you can use any sizzix or accuquilt die as long as it's not a pro die, if it's an Accuquilt die you need the adapter, it's 15 on amazon. I have the Big Shot Plus and I use it all the time and it's wonderful! no pain to turn and super accurate! I have a 6" finished square die and a 2.5" strip die, and I snagged the cat from Accuquilt on sale and got the adapter and I'm cutting cats out of small print cat fabric with my Sizzix. I have like 10 dies on my wishlist for Christmas gifts lol. I'm thinking about getting my mom a Big Shot Plus for her birthday, rotary cutting is painful for her as well.

Thanks Austinite. What is the adaptor called as I can't see reference to one anywhere online? It might be clearer when I get the manual though

https://www.amazon.com/Sizzix-661517...zzix+adapter+g

Accuquilt dies are slightly thinner than Sizzix dies so it's a shim that makes up the difference. I tried working with cardboard first but quickly decided it was just way easier to buy it. When you use a die cutter you are making a sandwich of sorts which you put thru the machine, with a Sizzix it's a piece of plastic on the bottom, the die itself, fabric on top of that, then another piece of plastic. Then you run that sandwich thru your die cutter machine. If you're using an Accuquilt die with a Sizzix machine your sandwich would be: the plastic on the bottom, the adapter, the accuquilt die, the fabric on top of that, and then the other piece of plastic. If you go to youtube and watch a few videos where people are using die cutters it will make more sense.
