Bayside Quilting has a new product that may just make using up scrap batting a whole lot easier...heat press batting tape. You just iron it on to two pieces to connect them. It says that if you are short when it is on the frame, you don't even have to take it off the frame. Just move your ironing board over to the frame. I am buying some.

I have used this and it is great. I had many strips of batting (cut too many for a serger quilt) and used the product to join the strips together and have used all my scrap batting. This is one product worth having. I found a good deal on Nancy's Notions, 2 rolls for 12.99. Shipping I think was under 5.00.

My LQS carries the heat bond tape and I have used it a few times and l love it. It sure saves and allows you to use up smaller pieces. Be sure to overlap the batting a bit and then cut with a rotary cutter to get a straight line. That will allow you to get a smooth joining.
