Smile FINALLY!! A thrft shop score for me!!!

I was walking through the housewares section of Goodwill today and saw a box with the word "quilt" on it. I picked it up and lo and behold, ElectricQuilt 5!!! Brand new, never been opened. My hands were shaking, I turned it over to see the price and about fainted.....$4.00!!!!!! Merry Christmas to me! This has been a tough year, we had to call the kids and tell them that we couldn't send any presents this year. We had already decided not to do presents for each for ourselves but it was a killer telling the kids and grandkids we couldn't get them anything either. I have been soooo depressed. This was a nice little surprise and really lifted my spirits.

What a great find. I'm glad it lifted your spirits. Please remember that your kids and grandkids love you for who you are and not what you can give to them. I don't know how large your family is but maybe you and your hubby could bake a dozen or so cookies and send to each family as this years gift. I'm sure they would love them. There is no better gift than the gift of love but home made cookies are really close. Here's wishing things get better for your family very soon.

What a cool find. Glad it cheered you up. Please don't feel badly about not buying gifts, you really don't need the extra stress. Maybe you can "get together" via skype. This can be a very difficult time of year for many people, so many pressures and expectations, just remember the true meaning of Christmas...forget the advertising hype and keep it simple and true.

Bless your heart! I am sooooo glad you found this and not someone else. You needed that uplifting! For your family, why don't you write each one of them a very special, personal, Christmas letter. You might share some of your favorite memories with them ... a different memory for each person, something that they might relate to. Christmas has gotten so commercialized, we all need to get back to the basics, back to the real meaning of Christmas. A sharing from the heart is the best gift of all.

Kerry has a great idea!! It's not a gift that counts! I keep telling my kids no gift but the gift of your time!! That is the best gift to me!!!
Forgive my ignorance what is electric 5???
