simosap,

That is going to be soooooo pretty. I can't wait to see how it all turns out! The silver seed beads on the chiffon will be so elegant! :)

Oh! Those are all great ideas for snow. I would try a combination. Now how about FOG?

I think white tulle would be foggy, or gray, depends on how heavy the fog is!

For the snow, I would use those fuzzy specialty yarns. For fog, maybe tulle or chiffon, quilted in places to give the impression of swirling mist?

Hi Susan

for an effect of fog, what about that fine net using in wedding veils; it's sheer.

Tulle for fog, or maybe reversing some fabric to get a more muted coloration. I've used some glitzy specialty fabrics for waterfalls, but was not happy with how they worked after the piece was washed. There are some fabric paints that might work if they are well-diluted, too.

I was thinking something along the same lines. but I saw a quilt art pic on another forum which stated that the artist heated a fabric. I think it was an ocean pic., for the ocean foam, or something like that. Maybe I'll need to go look for that piece of art work again. I do not remember what the fabric was. I tell you some of the artwork which they are naming quilts are composed of more metals, plastics paint and bead work than fabric. I can not imagine cuddling up to any Quilt" that needed to be soldered together  Lin I would take some of your grey tulle what do you think it would cost for postage? Could I buy it cheaper than what the postage would cost?

I finished at last my small pannel and, as I promised, here a picture of it!! I made the snow overlapping a kind of shining tulle. To tell the truth I'm not very satisfied of the result but......that's what I was able to do!!
Anyway thank you for your appreciable suggestions and
best wishes to you all for the best New Year of your life!!!!!![

"Brr......now there's the snow too!!

That is LOVELY!!! I was going to suggest a light layer of glittery fabric paint (they actually have "snow" paint), but you don't need anymore suggestions. It turned out just perfect!!
