After several months of research I decided on the Tin Lizzie 18DL. It runs smooth and is very quiet. I also got alot of feedback from the wonderful people here on the board. But, when it was all said and done, the Tin Lizzie was the most bang for my buck. All I can advise is: test drive various machines if possible. Ask lots of questions, either from the LQS staff or the board members here. Do lots of research! The only registerd dealer in Ontario is only an hour away, so it makes it handy as well. It does make it easier if there is a dealer near you.

The choice of a longarm machine is a truly personal one. You need to decide the features you need, the intended use (personal or business), frame (both size and material) and ease of use of the machine. There is also the option of new vs. used. I would suggest joining the online groups for those machines you may be considering and searching through the postings for the types of problems current owners are experiencing.
