I think we need to think like our spouses do when they "need" a new or different tool. They don't say they "want" it, they say they "need" it.
I had kind of the same thing happen to me a couple of weeks ago. I went with a friend to have her machine looked at. It was a 3 hour ride, and she wanted company. I was looking around in the shop while they worked on her machine - well - I looked in the window, and they had a Janome 11000 sitting there with a crazy price tag on it. I asked what the deal was, and they told me a woman bought it and then was afraid of it, there was no Janome dealer in town, so she brought it in to them to trade in.
It's like new and I got it for $1500.00!!! With a bunch of add on accessories. I'm still doing the happy dance!!
Enjoy your new machine. I know I'm having fun with mine.

I'm so happy for you! A new sewing machine makes life so much better. I bought a new one 1 1/2 years ago and love it. Gave my daughter my first sewing machine and my second one is in my closet for "in case of's". I haven't had to use my second one again, but when I need to get my new one serviced (which the dealer is 1 1/2 hours away) I can pull out my other sewing machine and continue working (even though I probably forgot how to use it).
