Amma, those are beautiful. When I finish my Grandmothers Flower Garden I want to use one of those patterns. Please tell me you don't mind.

I CAN ONLY DREAM OF MAKING SUCH AN AWESOME QUILT!
I am drawn to the floral, hand painted, water color look, and
hope that I can achieve this level of quilting in my lifetime.
Tell me that it is easier than it looks!

Actually, Susie, I'm using the quilt patis (plastic reusable templates) and it's really easy! I've done a couple just to see if it's something I can manage. I've got a design, several in fact.... I'll get them scanned and posted to see what you guys think. I've found 4 inch squares on Ebay that I'm going to use, so I don't have to cut up all those squares on my own.

That is one beautiful quilt. a new slant on hexagons thats for sure, looks a bit like a watercolour as well. Love it.

About halfway down this tut shows them set in a diamond pattern that is pretty neat looking.

So I've found a pattern and also began drawing two others. I'm going to do the one with the piano key border first to get the hang of things. What 'cha think?
