When Shelly Q went to the show she took a picture of a quilt that had Gollies ( Golly refers to a persons skin color) Her thread is under pictures titled (Pics of Levin Town & Country Quilt Show) Golly Medallion is the quilt I am referring to.
I want to locate a shop in the US that carries such quilt patterns. I looked for several hours yesterday no luck. Please Help!!!!!
Thanks!!!!!

I sent you a PM with the small quilts on it.
Like I said, you have to scroll down towards the bottom to find them.

I suspect (and hope) you will not find many US suppliers of anything related to "Gollies". See this for the history. http://www.ferris.edu/JIMCROW/golliwog/

My grandson's other grandparents gave him a Golliwog doll (from UK). My dil says it is NOT a complimentary term over there and has put the doll away.

bj, it is not a complimentary term anywhere. It is a racial slur and has been for many generations. You should be proud of your DIL.

I was surprised to see this post, it is really frowned on in England now and schools are banned from reading stories and shops are banned from selling anything with this theme on it.

For many years the company Robertson & Co made Marmalade and their trademark was a Gollywog, not any longer, it is really frowned upon.

I subscribe to the Australian Quilting Magazine and when I opened and found a quilt with that theme I was, to be quite honest, quite shocked as I know it can really offend.

I am. It was pretty hard for her to put it away since it did come from her mom and dad.
