You absolutely, positively did the right thing. Who knows what your DH's motivation was to agree to it being in the DR after you'd said you'd sell it. If you'd really wanted to use it, you would have found a way around him. Trust me on that. Use the $500 to buy something you'll enjoy. (It was already spent money, so have fun with it.)

Wait a minute, I am all sorts of confused. Did you mean to write that you sold just the quilting rack for your Bernina (not a LA and not a machine, just the rack for your Bernina) Your previous posts about this indicated you had the rack for machine quilting that you got when you bought your Bernina 830 in pieces in your garage. Did you also have a complete LA set up too???

My thoughts exactly, give her time to learn to use it then hire her to do your quilt tops. At least then you could say you had them done on the LA that you once owned. I would love to have a LA and learn to use it well, but I have NO place to put one, unless I win the Lottery and build a bigger house with one wing dedicated to quilting only. lol, like that is really going to happen tomorrow. But we can always dream.

Good for you!!! It's empowering to get rid of stuff you don't use and you have made someone very happy.

I'm further confused by the fact that all your previous posts about this Bernina frame indicated that it terrified you to even think about using it, that you always send your tops out to be quilted, and that the frame had never even been taken out of the box. Why are you all of a sudden blaming your husband for causing the sale of it??? Nothing at all wrong with selling it, but don't lead others to believe someone else's lack of willingness to move furniture was the reason.

Maybe you should look at it the other way ... that you were imposing on your husband by filling the garage for all these years.

Jeanne, I think you are like me. I love to piece and applique, but I don't care to quilt. I have done some quilts by hand, and am trying to learn FMQ, but that's as far as I go.

Don't ever look back. It's done and don't regret it. Something good will come of it!

Be kind to yourself. All decisions we make are made to improve our lives. You saw fit to improve yours by clearing the clutter. Clutter binds us and prevents us from living in the present.

I would check the Alto cutting to reward yourself for clearing the clutter. It might make you feel better about your decision. And push you forward in doing your piecing of your quilts.
