What a beautiful poem. I wish I had known about it when I made my 1st quilt.

My quilts must have lots and lots of character then!

Yea, that is what I make quilts with character! I need to remember that! I will have to post a pic so everyone can see the heart on the quilt. Along with my poem tag. I really do tend to create my own rules!

That reminds me of an 8 paneled skirt that I embroidered for a 9th grade home ec project. On the day of the fashion show, we were putting the skirt in the trunk of the car and the trunk wouldn't shut. I tried to shut it, but alas, it wouldn't. I tried harder. Then, I saw that the skirt was caught in the latch. Oh, I was heartbroken! There was a big grease spot right in the place where the trunk latch was.

My mom took it--told us to go on to school (about an hour away) and she would work on it. She did. She got most of the spot out and then did something over that one spot--I think she added embroidery. Because the panels were so fully embroidered, including a blanket stitch around each panel, no one ever noticed a single thing.

But, great idea! Thanks for sharing.
