Default Split One Quilt Pattern question

I like the Split One pattern by QuiltWoman.com and have made several, however, I've only done them in batiks. Has anyone done this pattern in something other than batiks? Does it still have the same floating effect?

Here is the link to the pattern for those that would like to see which quilt Handcraftsbyjen is referring to http://quiltwoman.com/split-one-quilt-pattern.aspx

I believe it would as long as your fabric colors aren't blending into the black sashing or whatever sashing you use. Sure it should work....

Thanks QuiltNNan ... it's always helpful to see these new patterns! Well, new to me!

HandCraftsByJen ... Oh please do show us pics of those you have done!!

ITA with BTiny ... not knowing the pattern, I'm sure it would work from what I saw in the link QNN provided. Like most patterns, it's all about "right" choice of different fabrics. Go for it!

I'd happily show them, had I taken pictures! That is one thing I have learned...take pictures of everything before you give them to others. This pattern is a 'go to' because it is so quick. There are 36 blocks and you sew 2 at a time. You can easily be done in less than a day. (cutting is the longest part)

I will post pics once I do my next one. I like a funky fabric fabric that has splats of color (really terrible description, sorry), but it's not batiks which is why I was asking. I will also have to learn how to post pics other than my profile pic and my avatar pic! Lol computers are not my thing!

I like that it looks like the blocks are floating on one another.
