EUREKA!!!!!!!!! I'm posting this all over the place because I am THAT excited. (hmmmmm .... i think ... maybe ... i need a life. :lol: :lol: :lol: )

just tried it for the first time. i just had to adjust my needle position to find the center of the foot (which is because of the machine, not the foot. i always have to do that). it's super-easy to see whether or not your edge is lined up with the foot.

i even tested it for ditch-stitching on a sample sandwich. dead-center. if i didn't know where the stitching was, i wouldn't know where the stitching was! it isn't a "proper" quilting foot; i had to pull gently from the back to keep it moving smoothly; but once i got the hang of it i was amazed.

that's really neat, and i need a quarter inch foot, but i have an older kenmore :(

any ideas?

*update* i found an adapter for my super-high shank and then an adaptor to fit snap-on feet. when they arrive, i'll try my Janome snap-on feet to see if they work.

That does look great, and I need a 1/4 foot as well. It looks to me as though that Singer foot is a snap on. Who knows if one Brand snap on feet fit on other snap on machines? All over Ebay they say Brother, Elna, Janome and Newer Kenmore have interchangable feet (don't know that I believe them...) Your rave makes me wonder.

The only problem I see is that you cannot make a scant 1/4 inch cause the hole is small.
I had a problem with my 1/4 inch foot cause my machine had wide feet.
So I bought an edging foot and adjusted the needle. No more jurking to the side.

i CAN make a scant quarter-inch with this foot. my needle position adjusts in teeeeeeeny tiny increments. two clicks to the right for me and i'm scant. :-)

it's a universal snap-on. it'll fit just about any machine ... unless the machine has one with a super-narrow snap-grabber-thingie.

Thanks for the link, I think. LOL Looks like I might be spending at least $100. I do like the slide on machine extender, and a couple other feet maybe.

This certainly looks like something I could use. I'm going to try my next quilt with a scant 1/4" and a different foot first though before spending the money... thanks!!

Elizabeth your cat looks just like my quilting partner. Booter is her name and she loves to make sure I am sewing everything correctly. (In her opinion anyway) I have a universal snap on 1/4th inch foot and it is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!! I bought it at Joanne fabrics and it fits my kenmore and I have also used it on my old singer
