I have almost worn out my 12.5 " Quilt In A Day square up ruler. It does go on sale on occasion. I like the ease of using it and certainly would buy it again.

I use Creative Grid rulers. Depending what I'm squaring up, sometimes I use the
12" square and sometimes I use a 6" x 24" and a 8" x 24" side by side. I like the
Creative Grids because it's clear and don't have all those yellow marks which
make it more difficult to see. No matter what ruler you use you will have to get
used to it. At first I wasn't sure if I liked the Creative Grids...I found them a little
confusing but because they were easier to see I kept using them until I got the
hang of it. Just have to double check how you place your rulers because they
1/2"...1 1/2"....2 1/2" on one side and 1"...2"...3" on the other side.
The Creative Grid is also non-slippery which is another plus for me.

I don't know if I'd call it my "favorite", but they're inexpensive & readily available -- Omnigrid/Omnigrip. If I had the money, I'd get Karen Kay Buckley's Perfect Square-Up Ruler. I've seen fellow guild members who have that & it looks very nice. Gets you to just about any size you need, but at $75 I'm not likely to be buying it anytime soon.

I recently got an Olfa Frosted ruler. Not a lot of confusing markings, easy to see thru and doesn't seem to slip.

I love Creative Grids' rulers, too. I used to be an Omni only girl but those rulers are so helpful in improving accuracy.

I also have the quilt in a day 12 1/2" square ruler. I love it. It has a line going down the middle from one corner to the other that you use to place it. Wonderful ruler and you can use it for all the sizes up to a 12 1/2 block.

I absolutely love my June Taylor Perfect Half Square & Quarter Square Triangle. I have tried many square up rulers and have found the June Taylor to be the easiest to use. I shared this with my quilty friends and they stormed the local store to get one (they ran out!)
