How far off are they? If less than an inch (better yet: less than 3/4"), you should probably be able to block them.
This is the video that many of us have found helpful:

Don't give up just yet.

Bummer...I have learned to not sew when I am tired..I messed up a butterfly block last night...sewed on the wrong line then cut the corners off...then realized I sewed it wrong and the end is gone..so can't fix it...Linda B.

I so sorry this happened to you. How did you ruin it??? I am making 4.5 inch 9patches in a quilt of my own design at the moment. I did not want to square down, so I plotted out a paper template that when three strips are put together it is a perfect 4.5 finished block. I had the paper template made into a plexiglass ruler yesterday. My ruler is 1 + 27/32s inch wide, and I had it made 12 inches long. The paper template was working fine, but I had the ruler made to preserve the template because it makes the perfect 4.5 finished block.

I needed to make the block 4 1/2 inch. But when I did that it made the outside blocks to small....I have to recut all new 2 1/2 pieces...first need to find new strips. A few were the only ones I had left of that style...I am going to check out the video jillaine posted. I watched one so far...not the the one she posted another one which is of course not for a 9 patch....
