I posted a thread (http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-58275-1.htm ) about a fire in Sister's Oregon (see below). Others have mentioned it would be nice to send Jackie some squishies to help her get back on her feet. I think it's a great idea. If you want to donate, I suggest that you put a note in the package explaining why you're sending the squishie and that you heard about the fire from this forum. The article mentions donations of $ can be made at Bank of Cascades. I've looked online and can't get the address of the central Oregon BofC....they have an error on their website. If anyone has it and wants to donate to Jackie thru that, then feel free!!! :-D

    The address:

    Jackie Erickson
    c/o Stitchin' Post Quilt Shop
    PO Box 280
    Sisters, Oregon 97759

    The story:
"Although no homes have burned because of the fire, one storage outbuilding has burned.

And now friends and co-workers have set up a fund at Bank of the Cascades to help Sisters quilter Jackie Erickson, who has worked at the Stichin' Post in Sisters for more than 20 years, who lost almost all her quilts and family keepsakes when the building burned.

Erickson and her husband were getting ready to move, said Jean Wells, owner of the Stichin' Post, and had packed up personal items, quilts and more. They were storing the items in their large outbuilding when the fire came through.

“So she just lost all her special stuff,” Wells said. “She has two quilts on display at the store, and all the rest are gone.”

I just posted to your other thread that you posted a link to Dee... it's not her stash that she lost...it was her quilts and family heirlooms... :( I think a quilt would be a better choice if someone wants to take charge of collecting blocks and assembling them...

Ok, holding off, but I bet they were gorgeous quilts and stuff. Jean Wells is a well known quilter and book author, etc.
I'm sure Jackie is pretty adept too.
I think she'd probably rather have the fabrics than a quilt, but it's a nice idea.
It's getting to be a really busy time of the year and most are working on finishing up stuff so they can get to their holiday quilting.
I'm up to my Big Ears in sewing meeceself :XD:
(let us know what u find out.) :-D

Please go to the original post about the Sister's fire and read Charlee's response. She called The Stitchin' Post and got info.

You ALL are so special for wanting to help!
