I haven't had any trouble with getting the Sta Flo starch, most likely the stores around you don't want to stock it. I mean we're a little hole in the wall town and the closest "big" town is 100 miles away.

I have several boxes of Argo Glossy Powdered starch. I was told it has been discontinued. I have six 1/2 gallon jugs of Stay Flo I bought on clearance for $1 each just a few weeks ago. The store was not going to stock it anymore. The manager said it took up too much shelf space and not moving fast enough.

When I looked for spray starch in our local K-Mart there was not one starch product of any type on the shelves and no open space where they might be stocked.

Ship to store won't work for Walmart because Sta-Flo is now "unavailable" on the Walmart website.

Sometimes I add more water if I don't want it as stiff as cardboard. Hope this helps.
I remember my Mom making that kind of starch. I had forgotten all about it.

Starch question - I primarily make wall hangings and don't wash my completed pieces. If I starch my fabric, won't I have to wash the quilt when done?????

I find mine at the Family Dollar store (not a $1 store) and the local chain grocery store.

I'm going to try the homemade recipes I've been seeing lately though.

Prisma99! Where are you in Western Wisconsin? I am in Grantsburg.

Oh, look what I got when I thought about looking it up on Walmart online (because they have pickup in stores with no shipping charge):

I wonder if my local Walmart in WI still has it???
