Rather than finding and cutting each piece individually, a quilter can cut and layer a number of large, identical print rectangles to make a stack."
no it's not stack & whack from that book it's made with 6" turnover block and 3x8 rectangle. That's why I liked it no waste and you can make it scrappy without the stacking...watch the video on Missouri Quilt company it's cool.....

I haven't done hers but my friend has and I didn't like the stacking part and pinning to keep in place. But hers came out beautiful but it wasn't anything I wanted to do. But I didn't mean there was waste I just mention that there wasn't any so you would know....and that you could use scraps or your turnovers or 6" squares. :)

OK - sorry, misunderstood you. It's just that it's a common misconception that ALL stack n whack, kaleidoscopes etc are fussy cut therefore generate a lot of waste. Just didn't want folks who didn't know to get the wrong idea. ;) :-D

the tutorial is a bit confusing as the demonstrator is not making an actual "stack and whack" block. She is using the concept but using different fabrics to create the pinwheel pattern. You might search for pinwheel designs. It could be drafted on graft paper to determine the sizes of the rectangular pieces that will fit the triangles.
