Default Stained Glass Quilt/Hand Quilting

I'm doing a stained glass quilt and I'm hand quilting it. The center portion is white, with the diagonal butterfly swarm, and the border is the stained glass part, 12" wide all the way around. I have quilted the center portion in a stipple pattern. What pattern should I use to quilt the border to really bring out the stained glass look? I have considered continuing the stipple, or maybe pebble. Any ideas? Remember - hand quilting.
