Started to quilt
#1
Started to quilt my quilt for the show; but I'm running into some trouble. I'm quilting by hand and I'm quilting with miltalic (?) thread. and it keeps on breaking. I tried thread heven, bees wax, shorting the thread where I almost have nothing on the needle. I mean it's looking good; but I need to find a better way so the thread dose not break on me all the time. Is there any one who can help me?

Other than the needle, the only thing I can think of is not to pull it through too much material. How I mean that is if you put 10 stitches on your needle, try doing only 5. then you wouldn't have as much tension on your metallic thread and it shouldn't break.
Sorry.
Sorry.

I think Sue is on the right track. I know the metallic machine needles are very different than standard sewing needles. I wonder if you need a needle whose eye is smoother and rounder. Also, some thread actually has a direction to it. If all else fails, try swapping ends.
