Love planning, cutting, piecing and binding a quilt! However, the actual quilting process - from determining the motif to quilting FMQ or with rulers - is the most challenging step for me. Sometimes, it's my least favorite because it's not as easy to do but it's always the most rewarding when finished. The same goes for paper piecing and curved blocks - not my favorite while doing it but always rewarding in the end.

Oddly enough - I also enjoy the process of organizing my sewing area and tidying up after sewing. I find it enjoyable to step into a clean and organized sewing room so that I can get busy creating.

To Quilting Granny. I’m with you. I hate sandwiching the quilt, but love big stitch quilting.

I would say my least likable part ts the sandwiching. My favorite it making my tops.

I like planning, cutting, and piecing. I'm not so fond of sandwiching and quilting, but my desire to enjoy the completed top as an actual quilt helps get me through that part!

My favorite part is hand sewing the binding on. I see others like that, too!

I also love buying fabric and planning how to use it.

I hate the sandwiching. I see I'm in good company with that one!

I like all aspects of making a quilt. I have been making quilts since 1966 or 1967. Hand quilting the first 25 or so was very slow going. When I started machine quilting in 2002 I starting really making lots of quilts.

I keep or make ones I just have to have, give to kids, Grands, Great Grands, friends and lots of people I don't know now days I donate lots to foster kids in my county. I love to make quilts but, can't keep them all.

My favorite part of making a quilt is making the blocks. I could make blocks forever but certainly don't like putting them all together cause I have trouble making things straight.

Having a finished project is the best, but I also really love starting new ones. In between it would be small piecing of individual blocks.

The designing. My design wall always has something on it, even 3-4 layers. Probably need more DW's. Then I sew a little together and design some more. And I like finishing-ta da. My fingers ain't what they used to be, so hand binding are limited to very special quilts, but I do enjoy that too.
