I have a baby quilt that was 75% quilted and then sat for a while. Fast forward and I decided I would start it over again. (What was I thinking??) I proceeded to rip out all the quilting and start it again. It is now completed...binding and all but there are what seem like a million stitch holes in it. My question is if I wash it will they come out? And do any of you ever wash a quilt before gifting it? I have a couple choices here. One....wash and hope for the best. Two....pretend they aren't there and no one else will see them either (kinda like calories). Or three...our new puppy has a great quilt to sleep on!!

I would wash it. I always wash my quilts before gifting to see if all the stitching will hold and to get rid of any leftover spray basting.

i always wash quilts before gifting them. have cats who have usually inspected them and sometimes if the person getting quilt is allergic to cats will bother them. happened when i gave one to my son i did not wash and he is very allergic to cats. not sure about stitch holes. i know i have finger rubbed them out using a bit of water

Thanks for responding. I'll wash it in the morning!
