Suggestions Please

Hi All,
I would like to sign up for a block of the month.... but I don't know what is about. Now please remember when making suggestions that I am a newbie, but of course I would like the finished item to be as sophisticated and complicated looking as possible! LOL!
Okay... I will be waiting with baited breath!

There's a star one starting on the 15th of January if you like stars. It will be posted on the 15th. Check it out.
The house one started Jan 1st so you are not behind on that one. See Up North post.
Those are monthly blocks you keep for yourself.

This website has links to a bunch of different BOM's (scroll down a little) and is also hosting their own if you scroll all the way to the bottom of the page.

I taught myself many different techniques by making my own Block of the "Moment" quilt. I picked out a bunch of different star patterns and designed a couple more. I also limited myself to blue, white, pink & purple so I had to play with color values to get the effect I wanted. After I had 20 blocks finished, I quilted each block and used sashing strips to assemble it into a throw size quilt. It's not my best work but it did teach me a lot--patience more than anything--LOL and it got me completely hooked on quilting.
