Why would you want to use poly thread for piecing?

I use it all the time. is very strong but at the same time very fine and makes everything lay nice and flat.

DITTO
I actually use it for everything: applique, piecing hand or machine, quilting, hand or machine.
Never have had a problem.
I always have it in my bobbins. They last forever due to the extreme thinness.

yup it's a good thin strong thread, if you want to use it go right ahead, threads are a personal choice just like all the other options you have making your quilts, if you like working with the thread use it...and i've never had a poly thread melt from ironing, i have however had nylon invisible thread melt.
personally I love pieceing (hand) with silk thread, and it is very thin too.
