Red face Ideas for Election year challenge

My guild challenge is to design/make an election year themed item--but have either donkey or elephant or both. I'm open to ideas and/or fabrics--would really like to include something with depicts women of history that aided in women getting right to vote (Susan B. Anthony, etc). Any ideas??

I think I'd do a quilt with the fight *pow* etc things from Batman. 'Cause politics causes nothing but fights.

You may want to keep in mind that the colors of the suffragist movement were purple (symbolising dignity), green (hope), and white (purity).

Yeah, there's actually a 'myth' that it was green, white and violet...standing for Give Women Votes...but it's never been actually proven as anything more than a myth. Probably just one of those cases where they made up a story to enhance the facts. And it's really purple, not violet, anyway.

I recently bought Stars Across America by Eleanor Burns from amazon.com. There is a quilt block dedicated to Susan B. Anthony, and then you can make a quilt. Different woman like Eleanor Roosevelt, Clara Barton and Harriet Tubman to name a few that have blocks and quilts named after them. You can go to amazon and search for it and it's one of the books that allows "look inside". Maybe this would give you some inspiration on what to make and the choice of fabrics.

Hopefully this link will take you there.
