Default Tablet for Christmas

I am planning to get a tablet for Christmas. Which tablet is compatible with EQ7 & Quilt-Pro?

Check the Electric Quilt website. The customer service is great and you will get an answer. I think EQ is only for Windows based computers, not android at this time. Same with Quilt Pro.

I'd be pleasantly surprised if either program is available for tablets. I could be wrong but most programs don't work on tablets at all. I'm not even sure if there is a windows tablet out though. I know it doesn't help but I love my Google Nexus tablet... I was going to get the Samsung or the Kindle but felt the Nexus was more versatile.

You cannot use Ipad for programs that you need to have USB, Flash Card or floppy disk access. Ipad does not allow peripherals to hook into it. Only uses Wireless printers as one example. There are no slots . Think of tablets as monitor screens only. You will need a Windows PC.

If you can get one for an iPad please post information. I have only been able to load eq7 onto a lap top with a cd/ DVD reader. I wish I could put it on the iPad. I don't think an iPad has enough storage space. I have downloaded sone courses and only get part suitable for iPad, to see all look on main computer.

No tablet is made to run software. That's why there are special "apps" made for them. For example, you cannot load Excel onto a tablet but you can use Google docs for spreadsheets.

I love my iPad and use it constantly but still need my laptop for Quicken, etc.

The new Windows Surface is supposed to be compatible with 8 on the pc. You would have to check with a Windows distributor and EQ. MS wants an "all in one" approach. They might put out an app that would run through the cloud.

The new trend is apps online that you can access anywhere.
