tape is my new best friend
After calling and not being able to find a single stitch plate for my machines I figured out to just put a little piece of tape over the needle hole no more corners being eaten. As long as feed dogs are available everyone(namely me) is happy happy.I'm sure others have tried this but its new to me and stops alot of aggrevation and colorful language.

great idea! I'll have to try it. I love tape & have learned so much on this board. After buying all kinds of "special" things to keep my rulers from sliding, I tried the small pieces of painters tape. Amazing. No more ssliding

Thanks for the hint/trick. I bought an inexpensive Brother from Costco (I really like it) and tried to buy a single needle plate....I even called the company, they don't make one. I'm so glad you thought of this.

I am going to do it with a machine I use at my church. I'm going to use a heavier tape than painter's tape. I had the machine welded inside so it is now just a straight stitch, now I need to make the slit smaller and I'm golden. I'm glad to hear you were successful. 'Mine' a vintage Pfaff, so I couldn't find a SS plate.

I have a machine that the feed dogs don't drop so when I want to FMQ I put a couple layers of cello tape over them and it works fine. I tried using masking tape but it grabs the fabric. Tape is wonderful!!!
