Congratulations on your new machine. It looks like it really could almost sew by itself.
I have been so good this year. I sold one and gave one away. Both great machines. I am down to only two now. Well and my mom's old singer. But, I don't use it... ever.

It feels good to give them new homes. They were wonderful machines and needed to be used.

I your FIL is happy with his choice. I am sorry to say this, but, the others will have to stop fighting over it. That is silly. By the way never loan it to them, youwill never see it again.

I have two Vikings, one is a '74 and the other is an '85. They are both awesome machines- never had issues.

Oh there won't be any 'loaning'. I'm in Nv and she's in Il. A week after MIL passed, they were ready to clean the house out. He's still living! Still buging the SIL to start it.

When we went back to see MIL before she passed, we went to their house (BIL and SIL). You talk about a hoarder. Her sewing space was one big dump. I think I saw 3 machines, an emboidering machine and a long arm. So much sewing crap covered every inch of surface. She's on disability for a bad back. She was showing us some of her finished quilts and would spread them out on the floor and bend over to scoop them up. Bad back my foot. They weren't even quilted. Didn't see any ties either. All I know is I met her for the first time last summer, knew I couldn't be friends with her, and got the machine she wanted. Life is good! (I'm rotten, I know :twisted:

I don't think that you can go wrong with a Viking. Especially a gifted one, you are blessed.

I have a Husqvarna/Viking purchased in 1976 and I wouldn't part with it for anything. Happy sewing with yours.

I have three Viking, and love each of them. Would never part with them nor will I purchase anything but Viking again!

I have two Vikings. One older model (not sure of date) and a D1. Love them both. The reason I bought Viking in the first place....my girlfriend, who is in the upholstery business, has two for her personal sewing/crafting. I figure she sews for a living and knows machines. The feature I like best is the fact you don't have to oil a Viking. Just clean out the dust bunnies and it's good to go.
