I have never been to a quilt show. What goes on and what do most people wear? Thanks for any input. I will be going to one in columbus, ohio next month.

Wear what ever is comfortable for you. Especially comfy shoes! (I was going to say to wear clothes, but figured I'd get smacked). If you can avoid carrying a purse you will be better off. Wear a hat if it looks like it's going to be a sunny day, and wear sunscreen. Just like a day at the beach! Have fun!

There are quilts displayed and a lot of them have been judged and ribbons are given. There are generally vendors so it is a good chance to shop. Wear comfortable shoes and comfortable clothes. Depending on the size of the show you can do a lot of walking, looking, and visiting with outher quilters. All the shows I have been to do not allow eating or drinking around the quilts but do have space set aside where you can take a break. Some have food vendors but you can always take your lunch.

    Have lots of fun.

One other thing, you are not usually allowed to touch the quilts unless they have provided you with white cotton gloves. I wouldn't want you to be embarassed. I have to walk around with my hands behind my back to remind myself. They are all so pretty, I just want to caress eash of them.

Take a camera and snap lots of photos to post here. I love when people post pix from quilt shows. Take a canvas bag to fill with your purchases. Much more "green" and easier to carry all your purchases... Have fun!

Wear comfortable shoes. Take a bag with you to carry purchases. Yes, take a camera, but pay attention to where you can take photos. Take a notepad and pen, you'll want to write down some of the things you like.

You have been given many good suggestions ... ask some of your local people for the specifics. Each show can be somewhat different.

Yes, comfortable clothes and shoes, so you can walk around and around and around!

A small purse/bag that you can hang across your body so that both of your hands are free.

An idea in your head of how much you're willing to spend, so you don't go crazy.

    Have fun!
