? about wonder under
I have used wonder under on projects for applique. I found it to be very stiff, even after washing. I was using a big applique about 5 " x 5". I want to applique a quilt I am working on and the appliques will be smaller, at the largest 2" x 2". Will the wonder under not be as stiff, or is something else better? I have at least 3/4 of a yard and hate to buy something else but I didn't like the stiffness.

I would go ahead and use what you got for the small pieces. I use Heat and Bond Featherweight as my fusible. I made an appliqué quilt where the appliqués were almost 9x 11 and there were 16 blocks. The featherweight was wonderful! The quilt isn't stiff at all and the quilt drapes just like a pieced quilt. You can't even feel the fusible in it.

If what you have seems too stiff, try the windowpane method. You just frame the applique piece with the fusible- probably about 1/2"- 3/4" wide. That way it keeps it in place without having a lot of stiffness. I think Fons and Porter do it this way.
