I picked a whole quilt out once because the quilter did a horrible job and it needed to be redone, you only need to do the corner. I'd redo it, it would drive me crazy knowing it was not right. It is a very pretty quilt. I'd start picking, but that's me.

I think a applique with your label on it would be perfect.

Well now that I understand it can be all taken out and redone, I admit that I don't have the reverse sewing skill to do it without harming it. My hands aren't steady enough to take out the meander. A seam yes, quilting no. The quilt is beautiful. Maybe I'm more artsy but I'd work with it as a design. Study the new look and get a feel for what would work for you. Great suggestions. I did read on another thread about the American Flag. They were very adamant that it should not be reproduced on a quilt. They stated the law this refers to. Wishing you a successful ending, no matter what avenue you choose!

I would not bother changing anything. I think it will make it even more special to the recipient. Most all of mine have the same type of crazy design defects and I love them all.

Bind it, love on it, and give it away with love. You could even add a note on the label about imperfections if you want. But don't let this issue bother you in the least. None of us are perfect.

Wow, what a lot of suggestion on this. Reading through them I thought that more people said pick it out (Maybe that's what was in the back of my mind all the time) so I figured I would go with that. Then I did a spreadsheet to see which one had the most suggestions and that is what I decided that would do. I was surprised to see it was almost 50-50 to pick it out or leave it alone. Other great suggestions of appliqué's, poems and labels.

Penny hall, you made me cry, thinking of all those soldiers that have fought and were wounded to protect us. When my daughter read it, she also cried.

So now I'm still confused.I read the mission statement on the quilts of valor and thought the least I could do was correct this. I love this quilting board for all the wonderful suggestions and help.

Soccertxi, I have never done anything like this before, so I was very grateful for your suggestions on how to pick it out. So, tonight I think I will start picking. Thank you all

I too love the quilt, my first thought was fallen heros. These two stars could represent our fallen heros, maybe make a little label saying thats what they represent.

I reckon it makes the quilt unique and quite special. I wouldn't fix it and if it came to me I would love it all the more for its "oopsie". It's beautiful and you've done a lovely job.

I had the exact same thought.

I love that you made a spreadsheet to help you analyze the suggestions. That sounds just like something I'd do but then I teach accounting and spreadsheets
