Does anyone ever wind up with fabric that does not match when ordering on-line? The fabrics look great, but am reluctant to order, fearing the color I see on the screen is not the actual color of the fabric. How do the rest of you do this?

I get the whole matching line so they match each other even if it's different from what i thought.

yep, that's happened to me twice. Once I thought I was getting grey clouds in a blue sky but the clouds are purple. I also got what I thought was a pink batik backing...again purple showed up with the pink, lol no worries both fabric is nice & will get used. I was just surprised. I've only ordered 3 times so my odds are not very good so far.

I have at times, not gotten what I have ordered...
But one step I'd take is put in the note, you don't want subs. the last time I ordered was for my latest grandbaby quilt, seems like they throw in anything yellow, if they don't have the yellow flannel you wanted.

I get the matching line also, and haven't had any problems. If I did I'd just use it for something else. That's one of the pluses of quilting.

Just one yard and it's for a special quilt, but it will get used elsewhere because I love the color and the shading in it. I do think it helps to stick with a certain company when it needs to match. A Benartex coral may be a better match than a Moda coral.

Everyones scanners are different, cameras too when they put the fabrics on the website. Also, our monitors all show colors slightly different.
It is better to stick with one fabric line, even if you have to purchase it from two different online shops, if one doesn't carry them all  :D:D:D

all computer monitors are different and seldom show the same colors as the next one...if you are concerned about matching i would contact the shop and ask for a swatch of the questionable fabrics so i can see how they are together. my favorite on-line fab shops offer swatch services. usually will put in requested swatches for about 75 cents each.
dye lots change with continued (manufacturing runs) so there at times can be change. request samples if it is imperitive that the fabric matches

e-quilter lets you click on a specific color in a print and they "find" matching fabrics. Haven't tried it yet, but it seems pretty smart.
