Default Sunbonnet Sue Quilt Pattern

Hi there. I have just recently become a member and am hoping that someone out there can help me. Many years ago, my grandmother made quilts for all her grandchildren. The one she made for me is the Southern Belle Sunbonnet Sue pattern. This is an appliqued quilt. Outline is done is blanket stitch. I have seen several similar patterns but the one I am looking for has Sue holding in her hand a little nosegay of flowers, the flowers being enclosed in a embroidered circle and made of various colours of french knots. Just wondering if anyone is familiar with this particular pattern. I have a picture taken by a cousin who has her quilt still in a box and not yet put together but I can't make a pattern or template from this picture. I would certainly appreciate any help that might be available. I have been going to get this project underway since I retired and that is some time ago but now the time seems right. Thanks a bunch for any assistance or ideas.

Joan

Hi Joan,
Welcome to the quilting board. I am thinking that if your relative has some loose blocks maybe she will send you one to copy? The other way would be to have her tape it to a window and outline the block for you with a #2pencil. She could just put a dot where the french knots are. I have a pattern like the one you mention. But, I don't know if it is exact. There are so many of the sues out there. The other way would be for her to scan it into her computer and send you a copy of that. That would be the pattern done up pretty easily.

Just wondering can you post a picture of the picture she sent you?
