Lightbulb Quilted name tags.

I would like to know a site or how to make a quilted name tag. I am not talking about the ones that cover your whole chest area. I just want a pattern or how to make a pattern for a quilted tag to fit in the area where you would wear a regular name tag.
Thanks in advance for your help.

i've made one by just using a plain fabric measuring about 2 1/2" by 3 1/2" then adding a border all around using a 1 1/2" strip. [If you want to fancy in it up you can string some fabric together then cut your strip. It'll give you a pieced border.] When you have your border attached I would then put name on tag. I used a fine line permanent fabric pen but you could embroider or use other methods. Next you will cut a backing fabric and a piece of batting the same size as your tag front. It should measure 4 1/2" X 5 1/2" using 1/4" seam allowances. Layer your tag front and backing right sides together then place batting on top. Sew around thru all three layers leaving an opening large enough to turn inside out. Whipstitch opening closed after turning. you can do some simple quiltin at time. Using 2 large safety pins attach by hand sewing to the back on top two corners. These instructions are based on one given in the Des Moines Quilt Guilds website.

The $ store in our area has the cute little plastic sleeves with the tiny metal clothespin attached for name tags. You could get one of those and just slip in a nice little embroidered name tag into the holder. If you want to make your own, I would do it the same size as a business card with a nice design on it. Look up samples of the quilter's trading cards for some inspiration.
