Default Please help with Mug Rug

I do a lot of crafts and sell a lot. Recently I have had requests for mug rugs which I have never done. I 'googled' mug rugs and got plenty of ideas. I just would like to know more on these units. Is there a size that sells best ? Prints or solids? Any information would be helpful. I made table runners once and did not sell any--ugh ! I do not want to waste materials or my time to end up with another blunder. Thanks, AnnieV

I don't know about size but there is a Forum on this board that some of the members are making mug rugs and swapping them. I believe the forum is called "Swapping and Round Robin" or similar to that name. This will help you out I think. Good luck on selling them as they are so cute sometime and very nice to use.

These are done with the EMB machine. The pics will give you ideas as to size or topic. They are quick and fun projects.

I use mistake blocks from EMB projects and attach to a block with stippling. You can either use traditional binding or cut the back bigger (approx 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 inch). Fold up in half along the edge of mugrug. Fold to top and stitch down.

In simpler terms, double fold the backing piece and stitch down on front.

    Hope that helps!

Sometimes, what doesn't work as one object can be repurposed. What happened to the table runners?

Pet, I was able to cut them and make potholders--a lot of waste but not a total loss.
