Do any of you starch your bow tucks before you cut it?

    I don't, but I don't prewash my fabrics either.

I don't have a pattern for the Bow Tucks purse, unfortunately. But other styles I've made I have prewashed and then starched the fabric. I don't want to be surprised later with running colors when I wash the purse, and starching afterward makes the pieces easier to work with as they're more stable.

I don't prewash my fabrics but I am taking a chance. I did wash my bowtucks purse and it came out fine. It was made of Batiks in browns and beiges.
