Default Thread color assistance

This is the last in the que that needs quilting, I am totally stumped on what color thread would work best. I could put it aside and wait till I am more confident in my longarm skills and match threads accordingly, especially in the border. Or I could be brave and try a bold shiny Gold Magnifico thread….. or? Thank you in advance for all your suggestions, I always love hear them!

I was admiring your quilt. I seriously think the gold thread would work very well.

Beautiful quilt! The gold sounds great, or if you don't want the thread to show that much you could use a light yellow.

I used a light gold Superior SoFine 50 weight thread on mine. I liked the way it turned out. I wanted to piecing design to shine on that one, not so much the thread.

Gold thread would be a good choice for your lovely quilt.

Great suggestions already given here - if you're pondering what to do still, try pooling some of each thread on both the lighter and the darker areas of the quilt to get a sense of how it will look quilted. It can be helpful to take a picture of it as well to look at - for some reason, my brain sees things in a picture it doesn't see in real time....

Good to know about the gold thread as I also have that same quilt pattern from Bonnie Hunter that needs to be quilted one of these days. My sister has already grabbed it for herself along with 2 other quilts as she has 3 bedrooms to fill. The 4th already has a quilt on it as it's my mother's bedroom. I just haven't decided how to quilt the darn thing. Suggestions would be great. I'm more into custom quilting than into E2E or if I do use an E2E, then I'll do something special on the sashing and border.

tallchick you have been one busy quilter. I like the idea of the gold thread on the pieced part of the quilt but not sure of the blue border as it might detract from the quilt.

Ask Donna Jordan haha. She's so much fun to watch.
Seriously, I think gold would be fabulous! What a pretty quilt.
