Wow what a great idea! I had posted in another thread about how expensive that thread spinner is. The dritz ones do not work the same way as the kwik spin that I saw. They work just like a vertical thread holder which still twists thread as it comes off the spool. Unless the thread is on the spool twisted already and it actually UNTWISTS when you sew. Hmmmm
At any rate I can't tell on my thread which is the top or bottom. They both look the same and it sure looks like the thread comes off both ends the same way.

I think it is a great idea. I had made one out of wood but was having problems feeding the thread. Now with the addition of the clip I am in business!!!! I like using cone thread for winding bobbins. Now it can sit next to my machine and be readily available!!!!

When I saw the video of the spinning spindle, I got the idea lol.....you could put several narrow ribbons on the spindle and roll off what you need and cover them with cover to keep the dust off....
I turn them upside down and used them for sewing machine parts, but then I have to take the spindle off to use the cover....
