Mine is getting there. I have hundreds of spools of machine embroidery thread, hundreds of spools of polyester sewing thread left from when I did so much apparel and craft sewing. Now I am accumulating cotton quilting thread for the long arm. I have lots of old wooden spools of thread as decoration in the sewing studio. I also have a lot of serger thread. You can't have just one or two colors of anything.
I'm in the same boat. Scads of thread from years of fashion sewing and crafts. AND I never buy just one spool. You never know when........

No, but I now try to buy at least one spool of thread every time I buy a fat quarter or remnant so the thread stash is growing...

I have more fabric then I do thread. Matter of fact, I need to buy more thread soon. I have just been waiting for thread to come on sale.

Every Oct. I go to the Pacific International Quilt Festival in Santa Clara, CA so I can hit the "Superior Threads" booth in the merchants mall...where I purchase a ton of threads! The more you buy, the cheaper it is. I usually focus on buying colors I will use in projects for the coming year, plus, I buy at least one "just because" and later find a use for it! Buying at PIQF I save on postage, plus get a discount!

I have very few spools of thread (except for my machine embroidery thread). I use white, beige, or gray when piecing so seldom use any other color. I have just a few other colors for mending. I would rather spend $$ on fabric than thread.

Just about! I have about 4 thread boxes of embroidery thread, a box of warm colors, a box of cool colors, a box of neutral colors and a box of quilting thread.

Is their really a difference in thread??Last month I was looking at buying a bernina and they told me to use only gutermens polyester. They stated it doesn't leave lint in your machine as the others do.Whats the scoop????? Thanks Mary
