What a lovely quilt ! ! ! Congratulations ! ! ! ! But I am a little confused, I always thought a whole cloth was one piece of fabric that has been quilted not pieced. Are your stripes one piece (making it whole) or did you piece the white and gold stripes?

The stripes are pieced together. Regarding the rules in most of the UK shows strippy quilts like this one are considered as wholecloths. The quilting makes the main design of the quilt, not the "piecing" - this the reason the organizer of the show informed me when I asked. As far as I know this is different to US shows.

One of our local shows does include wholecloth as a separate category, but that's pretty unusual. I haven't seen a wholecloth category in any of the major US shows yet.
