This is in regard to the person that had a fire in her microwave. The Warm Company has a new batting that is called "Warm Tater" batting. I have not found it yet but may ask at a local quilting store. I have used 100 percent cotton batting for potato bags and have had no problem.

I haven't had any problems either. I do wonder sometimes what causes these things to happen. I was in a store one day and a lady was buying the cheapest fabric she could for these bags, and I wondered if that was wise.

My LQS just got the new tater batting in & I just finished 4 tater bags. Before I only used 100% cotton & had no problem. This new stuff is great, thicker. Love it. It was $2.95 yd.

I still don't understand why you use a potato bag. Do they cook better or stay warm longer?

The Potato Baking Bag is designed to retain just the right amount of moisture when you microwave. You don't have to prick it with a fork or cut of the ends, so it keeps its moisture.

just remember you don't microwave the potatoes as long as in the oven. Our group had one returned, the daughter said I believe she microwaved it for as long as in the oven.
We use warm and natural and insulbrite. Cool about the new batting for them, I'll look for it.
