Excellent choice on the sashing and borders. These will look great in the quilt. what a tribute to the artist.

i'm doing some flowers almost like yours. i used rayon thread and put a light batting under the flower area and did some thread play in the leaves and flowers before i put the quilt together.then once you sandwich it together and quilt it, it looks like trapunto and most of your quilting is done for you

I saw your blocks the other day. You have found the perfect quilt pattern to set them off. Great job. Good luck and post when it is finished because I cant wait to see it.
