Whay exactly do you consider traditional fabrics?

if you're asking about traditional fabrics for quilting, I'd say 100% cotton fabrics of a medium weight. Others might add that traditional fabrics whould have a certain type of print - eg, civil war, etc., but I'm not concerned about the print as much as the weight. Seersucker, silk, cordoruy, denim, etc are, to me, not traditional fabrics for quilting, but today are successfully used in quilting.

another thought is that since early quilts were made with anything available, traditional fabrics would be 100% any natural fiber...cotton, wool, etc.

I guess I always think of print/solid fabrics that have been used in the more tradtional style quilts...
So batiks, most blenders, etc.. in my mind wouldn't fit in this category :D:D:D

Isn't it funny how we all think differently :D
