Does anyone have a link to a travel pillowcase pattern that overlaps on the back? I don't know what they are called, exactly. It kind of folds over onto itself so that the pillow can't slide out.

I've been looking on-line and haven't found anything yet.... If I find something, I'll let you know.

I don't have a pattern for this but I've done this for a square pillow. The travel size pillow is listed as 14X10X3 at Target's website. But I would measure the one I'm making a pillow case for. So you want it to be big enough to cover 17X13. If you want the overlap to be in the long direction, cut your fabric 45X27. Fold back the end of the 27" length 1/4" and press. Fold it back again and top stitch. Repeat on other end. Place fabric wrong side down. Fold the 45" up on one end and fold the other end over that until you have the opening where you want it. Sew together with a zig-zag stitch the entire length. Repeat on other side.

Thank you folks! I'm hoping to find time to give this a whirl this weekend.

My first thought was you were referring to a quillow. That is a quilt that has a pocket on the back that you fold the quilt up into a pillow. but that might not be what you are referring to...........

This is what I thought you were talking about.

there are directions for a "housewife" pillowcase - I think the concept is what you are looking for - you will have to make up your own dimensions

i have a heating pad that could use a cover. it's a larger curved one that goes across my shoulders. that is exactly what I have been thinking of making for it- a cover that has the extra fold. just have to put my mind to it!
