    Hi all :-)

I just put this WIP for neighbor/friends Christmas on my PDA here:

    http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-118237-23.htm#4445577

I hae just started this with some orphan blocks and a bunch of 4 patches from my 2.5" scrapp drawer.

Won't you weigh in with your opinion on direction to take this please?

I'm not great at design, but here is my 2 cents worth. Try framing the miscellaneous blocks out with the 9 patch blocks and solid cream blocks in the middle. Then set your 4 patch blocks on point around them. You could use the flying geese as an inner border by making more or just using what you have and adding a solid strip to the top of it. Hope that makes sense.

So let me see if I get it

Alternate 9 patch and cream around the misc and cream center? Or just 9 patch around misc and cream?

Geese border and 4 patch on point both all the way around? That's a lot more geese to make!

Intent is still to have some open areas.

I'm sorry I missed your response. How about something like this?

That would be pretty but I was going for a more free form look.

But thanks - I will use this idea for another one :-)

I added some more blocks and posted new pics on my PDA. I think it is still too symmetrical for me.

Come on over and tell me what you think!
